According to Globo, the media sector in Brazil is highly competitive and growing at a rapid pace. One of the companies that have made its mark in the field of media since its inception in 1957 is RBS group, which is active in radio, TV, print, and the internet. The company offers real-time news and other entertainment and science related content to the audience.
The RBS Group was started by Mauricio Sirotsky Sobrinho, who is considered to be one of the most successful media personalities in Brazil till date. The grandson of RBS Founder, Duda Melzer, heads the company today, and successfully so. He is highly qualified for the job and has bachelor’s in business degree from the Pontifical Catholic University. Duda Melzer also studied at Harvard Business School from where he completed Masters in Business Administration.
In an article on Estadao, Duda Melzer also worked with many of the reputed and leading media corporations in the United States that include Box Top Media and Family Communications Network. He even used to work for the leading media firm in the U.S., Delphi Corporation, before moving back to Brazil in 2004 and joining RBS Group. However, he wasn’t given the responsibility of heading the company as soon as he returned, and was made to work at different departments inside the enterprise. It was done to ensure that Duda Melzer can understand the vision as well as the business culture and workings of the enterprise. It is what readied him to carry forward the legacy of RBS Group together.
Duda Melzer was appointed as the CEO of the RBS Group in the year 2012 and was also given the designation of the chairman of the board of directors in the year 2015. He is successfully leading the company today and ensuring that it continues to grow and expand at a consistent pace.
