In the days of dividedness and party blaming it is so very important to be heard. Many people complain about what’s going on in politics. The problem is that they complain but then they don’t vote. I get it. They think their single vote won’t have any impact on the overall scheme of things. What they don’t realize is that when thousands of people think the same way it can have a huge impact on the outcome of elections.
In a recent article on the website https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/, Charlamagne Tha God discussed this exact concern. He expressed the energy that was put into the Kavanaugh case that included hashtags and protest. He said this energy was “cute”, but he has concerns as to why people don’t put the same energy into voting. He reminded everyone that the last day to register to vote in many states was Nov. 9th, the day the article came out, and urged people to go out and register.
Charlamagne relayed in a very elegant way that we all have the right to vote. People fought and died for this right. So, why not take advantage of it. He feels that if we all come together and treat this like it’s something important that this should be a record- breaking turnout. However you feel, whatever side you are on, whatever policies are important to you, you can help express that and make it happen. It’s important for us to be heard. There are so many of us that don’t vote. Yet, we complain about what is going on with jobs, wages, taxes, etc. You don’t have the right to complain if you don’t vote.
